Please Note:

Disabling GuardPoints

If you have protected a GuardPath with a GuardPoint, and you want to protect the path with a different policy, then you need to remove or disable the existing GuardPoint first.

When a GuardPoint is disabled, the client stops enforcing protection on the GuardPoint. However, references to the GuardPoint exist in the CipherTrust Manager configuration.

To disable a GuardPoint:

  1. Open the Transparent Encryption application.

  2. Select the client or client group from which you want to disable the GuardPoint.

    • Click a client under the Client Name column (Clients > Clients).

    • Click a client group under the Client Group Name column (Clients > Client Groups).

  3. On the GuardPoints tab, select the GuardPoint to be disabled.

  4. Click the overflow icon (Overflow Icon) corresponding to the desired GuardPoint, and click Disable.

The GuardPoint status becomes Disabled.
