SafeNet Agents

SafeNet Agents

You can download some SafeNet agents from the Applications tab on the STA Access Management console.

You can download the latest version of most SafeNet agents from the Customer Support Portal.

To encrypt the traffic and to prevent unauthorized agents, the virtual server requires that each agent use an identical encryption key file.

SafeNet Synchronization Agent

SafeNet Synchronization Agent enables you to sync users in LDAP or SQL user groups to a STA user store. Without the SafeNet Synchronization Agent, the administrator must manually input user information via the web-based management interface. With the SafeNet Synchronization Agent configured, LDAP or SQL user groups are monitored for membership changes and user information updates are automatically made in STA to reflect these changes.

SafeNet Logging Agent

SafeNet Logging Agent enables you to automatically retrieve access and audit logs from STA. The agent uses the Logs API to retrieve logs from STA and send those logs to the specified location in your network.

The retrieved logs can then be sent to a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system or System Logging Protocol (syslog) file server. The data from the captured logs can be analyzed to identify security risks and alerts, and to address other administrative needs such as long term storage, auditing, forensic analysis, and so on.

SafeNet Agent for FreeRADIUS

SafeNet Agent for FreeRADIUS is a highly secure, enterprise authentication agent that enables RADIUS clients to communicate with STA using the RADIUS protocol. FreeRADIUS is a customizable, open-source RADIUS Server that receives authentication data using the RADIUS protocol (a protocol running over IP/UDP or IP/TCP).

SafeNet Agent for NPS

The SafeNet Agent for NPS adds strong authentication to Microsoft’s Network Policy Server (NPS) environments, by transferring RADIUS requests received by the NPS to the SafeNet server. NPS is the Microsoft implementation of a Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) server, and is included in the Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019 families. The NPS performs centralized connection authentication, authorization, and accounting for many types of network access, including wireless, authenticating switch, remote access (dial-up and VPN), and router-to-router connections.

SafeNet Agent for Windows Logon

The SafeNet Agent for Windows Logon is installed on Windows machines to augment logon security by invoking Multi-factor Authentication (MFA). It ensures that valuable resources are accessible only by authorized users. The agent also protects desktop applications and processes that use CredUI.

SafeNet Agent for Password Self-Service

SafeNet Agent for Password Self-Service provides an out-of-the-box, self-service password management solution. If, while accessing a STA protected web application, the user forgets the domain password, they can easily reset it through the agent using any of the configured STA authentication methods. Similarly, if the domain password expires, the user can change the password while accessing a STA protected application. SafeNet Agent for Password Self-Service is available on the STA Access Management console from the Applications tab.
