Product Description
SafeNet IDPrime Virtual (IDPV) is a PKI-based software authenticator that uses latest innovation in software-based smart token technology to combine the strong two-factor security of a smart card. It is cost effective and convenient for the software authentication. IDPV emulates the functionality of physical smart cards used for authentication, email, data encryption, and digital signing to enable the use cases such as VDI, BYOD, backup, and mobility on any device. It secures user private key on HSM with user authentication from OIDC compatible Identity providers (IDPs).
Release Description
SafeNet IDPrime Virtual Client v2.10.0.122 includes new features and bug fixes from the previous version.
New Features and Enhancements
-
RSA 3k/4k Support: The client now supports tenants using 4096-bit exchange keys, enabling seamless integration with the Server Tenant Migration Utility.
-
IDPV Windows Client Update: Starting with version 2.10, the SafeNet IDPrime Virtual (IDPV) Windows Client is available exclusively as a 64-bit installation. The latest SafeNet IDPrime Virtual Client v2.10.0.122 is compatible with SAC 10.9 R2.
-
Functional Changes in Credential Provider
-
With Credential Provider (CP) installed in Complete Mode, users can connect to the smart card directly from the Windows login screen by clicking the Connect button.
-
Without CP, the offline virtual smart card loads automatically only after Windows logon, and the IDPV system tray icon turns blue when a valid offline bundle is present.
-
Limitation: offline bundle loading at startup is not supported for Windows logon.
-
Offline Smart Card Behavior
After a system shutdown and reboot, the offline smart card loads automatically (if a valid offline bundle is present), regardless of network availability.
-
-
Workflow Updates: SafeNet IDPrime Virtual Client workflows have been updated. For updated workflows, refer to the SafeNet IDPrime Virtual Client Workflows section.
-
Registry location has been updated to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Thales\SafeNet IDPrime Virtualfor the latest IDPV Windows Client 64-bit installer.
