Delete flow
This section provides instructions on how to safely delete IO flows.
Delete a flow
Active flows cannot be deleted. You must first edit the flow and disable it to proceed.
Warning: Flows deleted cannot be restored.
-
Open the left sidebar, select Visual Identity Orchestrator from the menu and the desired flow category.
-
On the right part of the table, under column actions, click on the Delete button to permanently delete the flow.
-
A pop-up will be shown to confirm the operation.
Before deleting a flow
Consider the following before permanently deleting a flow:
Check dependencies
- Verify if the flow is being called by other flows (especially in library flows)
- Check if any applications or services are configured to use this flow
- Review if the flow is set as a default flow for its category
Create a backup
- Export the flow to create a backup
- Save the JSON file in a secure location
- Document any custom configurations or integrations
Alternative to deletion
Instead of deleting, consider:
-
Deactivating the flow to prevent execution while retaining configuration
-
Creating a new version before making major changes
-
Renaming the flow to indicate it's deprecated
Post-deletion
After deleting a flow:
-
Update any documentation that referenced the deleted flow
-
Notify team members who may have been using the flow
-
Review and update any related flows that may have dependencies
