Logging Parameters
Parameter | Default | Description |
---|---|---|
Log_Level | LOW | The Log_Level parameter determines the level of logging performed by the utility.Possible settings —NONE–Disables utility logging. —LOW–Error messages regarding the utility connection to Key Manager are logged. —MEDIUM–Errors and warnings regarding the utility connection to Key Manager are logged. —HIGH–Errors, warnings, and information messages are logged. This creates large log files. —Debug–Errors, warnings, information and debugging messages are logged. Note: This parameter also decides the level of logs generated on SysLog Server, if enabled. |
Log_File | No default | The Log_File parameter specifies a name with a path for the log file.Possible setting —The path and file name–The path can be absolute or relative to your application. Do not use quotes, even if the path contains spaces. The log file will be created at the specified path. Note:The user running the utility must have permission to write to the log file and to create new files in the directory where the log files are created. |
Log_Rotation | Daily | The Log_Rotation parameter specifies whether logs are rotated daily or once they reach a certain size.Possible settings —Daily–Rotates logs each day. —Weekly–Rotates logs daily. —Monthly–Rotates logs daily. —Size–Rotates logs when they reach the size specified in ~Log_Size_Limit` parameter. —None–No logs are generated. |
Log_Size_Limit | 100k | The Log_Size_Limit parameter specifies how large log files can be before they are rotated. This parameter is used only when Log_Rotation is set to Size.Possible setting —Any positive integer–The default unit is bytes. You can use the suffix k (or K) for kilobytes and m (or M) for megabytes. |
Log_GMT | no | The Log_GMT parameter specifies if timestamps include the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) offset for logging on local machine. Possible settings —yes–Timestamps include the GMT offset. —no–Timestamps do not include the GMT offset. |
SysLog_IP | No default | The SysLog_IP parameter specifies the IP address of the syslog server where the log messages are to be directed.Possible setting —IP address-The valid IP address of the syslog server. |
SysLog_Port | No default | The SysLog_Port parameter specifies the port number used to connect CDP for MS SQL to the syslog server.Possible setting —Server Port–The port number of the syslog server. |
SysLog_Protocol | No default | The SysLog_Protocol parameter specifies the protocol used for communication between the utility and syslog server.Possible settings —TCP–Enables the TCP protocol. —UDP–Enables the UDP protocol. Note: To enable logging on SysLog Server, it is mandatory to provide all the three parameters correctly. Any missing or incorrect value for any parameter may result in no log formation anywhere (locally or on SysLog server). |
Log_MaxBackupIndex | -1 | The Log_MaxBackupIndex specifies the maximum number of log backup files to be stored on the disk if log rotation is enabled.Possible settings —-1-Allows infinite backup files storage on disk. This feature is the default value. —0-Allows minimum 7 backup files storage on disk. —Any positive integer-Allows as much number of backup files storage on disk as mentioned in the value. |
